Terms of Service

Last updated 31 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Pilloved. They explain what you can expect from us, what we ask of you, and the limits of a tool built to help — not replace — the care you and a clinician provide. Two sections deserve your attention before the rest: Pilloved is not medical advice and must not be your only safeguard, and if you lose your recovery code your encrypted data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Pilloved ("Pilloved", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the Pilloved mobile application and https://pilloved.com (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence to create an account. If you're using the Service on behalf of someone else — for example, managing medication for a child or an elder — you confirm you have the authority and the right to do so.

3. Not medical advice

Pilloved helps you keep a medication routine and coordinate care with people you trust. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a medical device.

Always follow the guidance of a qualified clinician. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read or recorded in the app. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use.

You agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you'll keep it up to date.

5. Groups and managed profiles

You're responsible for the activity in groups you create and for the accuracy of the medication information you enter.

  • When you invite others or assign them a role (patient, monitor, or admin), you confirm you have the right to share that information with them.
  • When you create or manage a profile on someone's behalf, you confirm you have the authority and consent to do so.
  • You're responsible for choosing appropriate roles and for the people you bring into a group.

6. Reminders and escalation

Pilloved sends reminders, nudges, and missed-dose escalations on a best-effort basis. Notification delivery depends on your device, network, and operating system, so the Service should not be relied on as the sole safeguard for critical medication.

We can't guarantee that every reminder or escalation will be delivered, on time, or at all.

7. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use it for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Access another person's data without authorization, or misuse group roles and invitations.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or build a competing product from the Service, except where the law expressly permits it.
  • Upload malicious code or content that's harmful, harassing, or infringes the rights of others.

8. Your recovery code

Your medication names, doses, notes, health logs, and the names of people you care for are encrypted on your device before they reach us. The key stays on your devices and in the recovery code the app asks you to save. We do not hold that key and cannot recreate it.

Therefore: if you lose access to all your devices and do not have your recovery code, your encrypted data is permanently unreadable. We cannot recover it — there is no back door, no support override, and no exception, for any reason.

You are responsible for keeping your recovery code somewhere safe and for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. You can view the code again in the app under Settings → Security → Recovery code, and Settings → Export my data writes your full history to a CSV at any time, free on every plan. We suggest you do so periodically.

9. Free and paid features

Pilloved's core — tracking your own medication, reminders, and missed-dose alerts to the people who care about you — is free, and we intend to keep it that way. Two optional subscriptions add to it: Pilloved Plus (US$4.99 per month or US$39.99 per year) and Pilloved Family (US$9.99 per month or US$89.99 per year). Prices are shown in your local currency at purchase and may differ by country. The person being looked after never pays.

Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, not by us directly, and we never receive your payment card details. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, or through the link in the app's Settings — cancelling stops the next renewal but does not end the period you have already paid for, and deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, and buying a subscription during a trial forfeits the unused part. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies and we generally cannot issue them, except where the law gives you a right of withdrawal or a statutory refund, which applies regardless of this section.

We may change prices, with advance notice, taking effect only at your next renewal — never mid-period. If a subscription ends, you keep access to everything you have already recorded: paid capabilities stop, but we will not delete your data or hide medications or people you were already tracking.

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend or limit access for maintenance, security, or other operational reasons.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Pilloved and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

The content you add — your medications, schedules, profiles, and notes — remains yours. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (such as hosting, databases, and push-notification platforms) and may be distributed through app stores with their own terms. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms, and we're not responsible for them.

Where you obtained the app from the Apple App Store: this agreement is between you and Pilloved, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to furnish any support for the app; Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to it; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, with the right to enforce them against you.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We don't warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or secure, or that any reminder or escalation will be delivered.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pilloved and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any missed, late, or undelivered reminder or escalation.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Pilloved harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of the rights of others, including anyone you add to a group or manage a profile for.

15. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we need to for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will continue to apply.

16. Changes to these terms

As Pilloved grows, these Terms may change. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
